# Achievements

• 2004
  • Our school team achieved its inaugural victory in an inter-school event by emerging triumphant in the Inter-School Quiz Competition hosted by Rotary Club Siliguri.
• 2005
  • Our football team brought honour to our school by emerging victorious in the Brotherhood Cup Football Tournament hosted at Lincoln's School, Siliguri. Several prestigious schools from the Darjeeling district participated, and our boys showcased exceptional skill, convincingly securing the cup by defeating all opposing teams.
  • This year, Shujaat Mitra achieved success by winning the 'Inter-School Declamation Competition' at Don Bosco School. This marked his second consecutive victory in this particular event.
  • Our school choir team brought us immense pride by securing victory in the Inter-School Group Song Competition, 'Vande Tarang,' hosted by Lions Club Siliguri.
• 2008
  • This year, our students brought honour to the school by clinching the first position in the Inter-School Theme-Based Skit Competition during Bosco Fest, hosted by Don Bosco School, Siliguri.
• 2009
  • Our boys and girls demonstrated outstanding debating prowess, securing victory in the Inter-School Debate Competition hosted by the Lions Club Siliguri. Additionally, Samiha Hossain Khan from our school received the prestigious "Best Debater" award.
• 2010
  • This year, we dispatched a team to City Montessori School, Lucknow, where they participated in McFair International—an international competition featuring various cultural events. With numerous esteemed schools from India and abroad in attendance, our boys and girls brought pride to our institution by securing the second prize in the 'One-Act-Play' category.
  • Notably, it was also in this same year that our team clinched the Champions' Trophy in the Inter-School Dramatics Competition at Bosco-Fest, organized by Don Bosco School, Siliguri."
• 2012
  • This marked our third participation in an international inter-school competition at City Montessori School, Lucknow. Rishabh Guha Roy from our school was honoured with the title of 'Best Actor' in the Dramatics category.
  • Also, this year our football team achieved victory on home turf by securing the Goodwill Cup Football Tournament. In a challenging competition, HIRS emerged triumphant, surpassing many prestigious schools in the tournament.
• 2014
  • The school orchestrated an Inter-School Olympiad in Athletics, featuring the participation of esteemed schools from Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling District. HIRS achieved the title of overall winner in the Boys' senior division, considering all the medals won throughout the event
• 2015
  • Once again, this year, we secured the title of overall winner in the Senior Boys' category at the inter-school Athletics Olympiad hosted by HIRS.
• 2017
  • The school organized an Inter-School Basketball Tournament with participation from eight schools. HIRS emerged as the champion of the tournament.
  • School was honoured to receive the award of the 4^th Best Co-educational Residential School in West Bengal by Education World Magazine.
• 2023
  • HIRS received The Telegraph's certificate of excellence for its commitment to maintaining an eco-friendly initiative. Additionally, our student, Chandrima Chakraborty, was honoured with a Merit Certificate for all-around excellence
  • Furthermore, this year, we dispatched our swimming team to participate in the CBSE Cluster Swimming Meet. Ayush Roy from our team secured the bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke event.
